Tenia Taylor was born in Tallahassee Florida, and raised in Orange Park, Florida. She got her first taste of the stage when she attended a private school that put on end of the year shows featuring ballet, tap, jazz, and voice. By the age of 5, Tenia performed in front of a large crowd and was never the same. It was then, that she knew entertainment was her calling. By age 7, Tenia was enrolled in modeling school that taught poise, confidence and self presentation. At the age of 8, she was booked for her first print job with a national magazine. Allowing time for school, Tenia took a few years off from working to focus on her studies. At age 14 she joined a modeling agency. As luck would have it, she was sent on an acting audition for a commercial. Tenia booked the job and met her former manager on the set and began going on more and more acting and modeling auditions. Soon thereafter Tenia was booking parts on Nickelodeon, taking extra roles in movies to build her resume and modeling in national print ads all while managing high school.

Shortly after graduating from Orange Park High School, Tenia auditioned for the reality show Popstars 2, which garnered her national attention as she went on to the top 10. The next year she auditioned for American Idol, season 1 and made it to the top 30. After American Idol was over, Tenia and her brother decided to put together a band GREYSCALEMUSIC in Orlando, Florida. Gaining much success in the Orlando area, the band released their debut album entitled 'Monochromatic'. The same year, Tenia got a call to audition for the television show One Tree Hill and landed a part on the television show as herself. The following year she auditioned for the film 'Dukes of Hazzard' and landed a part as "pretty girl" alongside Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott. The same year GREYSCALEMUSIC went on to be rated 'Best Independent Band in Florida' by Emergenza Music Festival.

In early 2006 Tenia booked 2 national commercials; one with Derek Jeter and another for a hospital in Ohio. It was then that she joined the Screen Actors Guild. Knowing that the Florida market was always good to Tenia, but very limited as far as acting, Tenia moved to New York City in July 2006.

In 2007, Tenia started a networking convention called Model One Expo, that gives actors and models that are trying to break into the industry an opportunity.
